pewnego dnia zobaczyłam zdjęcie Paula Stranda "Blind Woman" w Przekroju na ostatniej stronie. zaczęłam myśleć, na temat tej kobiety i jej sytuacji. to niesprawiedliwe, że ma tą tabliczkę zawieszoną na szyi. zostało jej to z góry narzucone. ludzie widza ją tylko jako osobę niewidomą, nic więcej o niej nie wiedzą, nie zastanawiaja się nad tym kim ona jest. ona tego nie wybrała.

postanowiłam zrobic serię portretów. każda fotografowana osoba będzie trzymała tabliczkę, na której sama napisze jedno słowo, które ją określa. sama może wybrać język, część mowy. może to być tylko jedno słowo, byle nie przekleństwo. nie narzucam gdzie ma byc robione zdjęcie, jak ma portretowana osoba wyglądać i jaką ma mieć minę. każdy przedstawia siebie.


one day I saw a photograph by Paul Strand "Blind Woman" in a magazine called "Przekrój".
I started thinking about that woman and her situation. it's unfair that she is wearing that plaque. she didn't choose it. people see her only as a blind person, they don't know anything about her, they don't know who she is.

I decided to make a series of portraits. every photographed person is going to hold a plaque. thay will write one word on it. this word has to describe themselves. they can choose the language and part of speech. it can be one word only, but not a swear word. they decide on the place where I am going to take the picture, they also decide on what they look like and what face expression they show. everyone presents himself/herself.

Filip czasem sprzedaje na allegro swoje prace

that's what he had been working on. he was drawing his skateboarding shoes. it was supposed to be a tshirt print for skaters. his old worn shoes, shoelaces are like dread locks, the front of the shoe is a face.
Filip sometimes sells his works on allegro (Polish equivalent of ebay)
